About Our Mission

Mandy and Matt Lewandowski started Chicago Charity Clays in 2014 with one goal in mind: To make a difference in the lives of Americas Special Operators and their families.

While competing in the world championship in Amiens France, Matt had made a connection with the late, great Spike Wahlen of Atlanta.

Whalen eventually invited Matt and Mandy to an Atlanta Charity Clays event which Spike established in 1991 as a fundraising event for local children charities.

Matt and Mandy were blown away by the event and felt compelled to establish a similar event back home in Chicago.

Mandy and Matt decided to establish Chicago Charity Clays and hold an event to raise money for charity. Having 9/11 playing such a major role in all Americans lives and the ongoing war on terror, the decision was made to find a way to support the men and women of the US Military.

With Spikes blessing of the name and continued support, he recommended a call with a friend from Atlanta who had just started his own charity.

The call was set up between David Kramer, Spike Wahlen, Matt and Mandy Lewandowski. After only a few minutes of hearing Davids stary and passion, the decision was made.

All proceeds from our event were to go to David and his 501(c)(3)charity, Special Operations Care Fund.

Special Operations Care was established in to provide direct support to both active and retired members of the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) Community and their families. SOC-F directs its primary funding towards addressing critical gaps in healthcare and family-related concerns. These programs save lives and give an opportunity for our elite military members and their families to experience life-changing, transformative care. These “gaps” primarily relate to family issues and behavioral health treatments. SOC-F supports Gold Star Kids family retreats and intensive therapy for at-risk marriages, as well as behavioral health treatments such as Magnetic Resonance Therapy (MeRT) – a highly customized use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), psychedelic therapies for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and 12-Step treatment programs for alcoholism and addiction. Secondarily, we support other recognized and trusted 501(c)(3) organizations that focus on similar medical and family needs of our SOF war fighters and their families.
